A bittersweet taste in my mouth as
I spit a seed risen from the
Earth, living in my body,
Into a placid lake.
Alone.
The burnished sea reflects the
Starry night,
The sun-warmed soil
Seeping over my skin.
Hidden.
You pull me up and we swim in the
Crisp water, moonlight reflecting up
Into our faces,
Your laugh is a sudden silvery wave.
Happy.
I let myself go, falling backwards and
Breaking the calm surface, but
You aren’t there to catch me. I
Let the black water take my soul.
Forgotten.
